Students from Thomas Johnson Middle School won 3rd Place in MESA's statewide prosthetic arm challenge.

MESA at a Glance As a science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) initiative for grades 3–12, Maryland MESA (Math Engineering Science Achievement):
Supports students statewide to prepare them to enroll in and graduate from a two- or four-year college or university with a degree in a STEM field.
Targets students who are traditionally underrepresented in these fields—specifically, minority and female students.
Helps students develop leadership skills, improve their academic performance, work in a team, and compete effectively.
Administered by the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), Maryland MESA joins 10 other MESA USA programs in serving over 49,000 students annually.
