To commemorate Black History Month, Thomas Johnson Middle School hosted a Black History and STEM Family Night. The well-attended event was hosted through the combined efforts of Thomas Johnson Middle School's STEM and Social Studies Departments. Attendees enjoyed an evening of student exhibits, performances, and celebration. Three local engineers--Rush Kester, Kim Adams, and Charles Griffith--were recognized for their dedication to mentoring minorities in engineering. The evening was capped with a surprise visit from County Executive Rushern Baker, who offered remarks on the importance of STEM education.
